§ 3 Authority on areas
3.1 The municipal council is the sole authority on areas within all towns, settlements and open country in the municipality. Through area allotment, the right of use for a specific purpose is awarded for a defined area.
As regards areas in open country, special conditions apply to hearings, as stated in the special provisions.
3.2 However, the Government of Greenland may permit area use pursuant to public works acts and national planning directives, cf. section 38, sub-section 4 of the Planning Act. Furthermore, the Government of Greenland may grant area allotment for activities pursuant to the Minerals Resources Act, cf. section 87, sub-section 2.
