    The area is to be used for public purposes in shape of administration, cultural and leisure activities, public service and hotel

    The area covers an area of some 1 ha

  • Building provisions

    New buildings are to have a maximum height of two storeys.

  • Remaining available space

    The area can hold another 5 homes and has 1,000 m² of available space, depending on the final layout of the buildings. Once the abovementioned building potential has been utilised, the area is considered fully developed without any available space in the area.

  • Traffic service and utilities

    Road access to the area is to be from Sissakkooriaq, Niels Egedes Vej, Koorunnguaq and Aqqusinersuaq

  • Listed, protected and preservation-worthy features

    B-24 and B-26 are listed buildings. These buildings can only be demolished or their appearance otherwise changed following prior permission by the Greenland National Museum. B-25, B-30, B-32, B-43 and B-55 are preservation-worthy. These buildings can only be demolished or their appearances changed following prior permission by the municipal council. The area is designated an especially preservation-worthy area (section-2 area).

  • Regulated zones

    Regulated zones exist around the airport in the shape of obstacle limitation surfaces that consist of partly a horizontal surface and a conical surface, partly approach and take-off surfaces in continuation of the runway. The area is located under the airport’s obstacle limitation surface, and is covered by the horizontal surface, where buildings and other facilities cannot be established higher than level 61.0 metres and roads no higher than level 56.0 metres.

  • Special provisions

    The existing available space is to be reserved for the construction of a new hotel as well as extension of existing functions in the area. The architectural design of buildings are to be determined in due consideration of the surrounding preservation-worthy buildings. Existing buildings in the area are not to be demolished or altered through rehabilitation and extension. Repair and maintenance of these buildings is to duly consider each building’s original structure and architecture. Unbuilt areas are to be designed to ensure that the area as a whole appears as a harmonic urban environment
