Centre areas

The area is to be used for centre purposes within retail, public and private service, homes, hotel, restaurants as well as public administration and institutions

The area covers an area of some 36 ha

New buildings are to have a maximum height of one storey

The area can hold another 5 homes and has 3,000 m² of available space, depending on the final layout of the buildings. Once the abovementioned building potential has been utilised, the area is considered fully developed without any available space in the area.

From the area, access is to be provided to the other areas and functions in the settlement by means of the existing system of wheel tracks and paths

Within a distance of 20 metres, registered ancient monuments are to be kept clear of buildings and facilities, cf. section 5 in the Preservation Act. The Greenland National Museum may grant an exception from the provisions.

The area is covered by the tank facility’s safety zone. The safety zone has a radius of 20 metres from the outer limit of the tank facility. This part of the area cannot be developed or in any other way be used contrary to the safety zone provisions.
