Centre areas

The use of the area is determined for center purposes for the establishment of service businesses in the form of facilities for overnight and dining guests as well as conference rooms. Undeveloped areas that have not been laid out for other purposes may only be designed and used as common public open spaces, and must be given a design that harmonises with the area's location and use.

The area includes an area of approx. 1 ha.

New buildings in connection with Sømandshjemmet's main building, B-41, may be built in up to 4 floors excluding the basement and may be built higher compared to existing buildings. Extension of annex, B-872, may be built up to 4 storeys.

Buildings may be erected within the building plots indicated in Appendix 1. The area has a residual space for expansion and conversion of B-41 and B-872 depending on the final design of the building. In addition to the above building option, the establishment of further can be approved with the permission of the Municipal Council buildings located outside the designated construction sites.

The area is served by road from Killerpaat, Sammiarneq and Katsiaap Aqquserna. New construction is covered by established road construction lines (a conditional zone) measured from the center of the road, cf. the general provisions of the Municipal Plan. The conditional zone is reserved for technical supply, and no buildings may be built within it.

No special provisions

The area is covered by the safety zone for the tank farm. The safety zone has a radius of 50 meters from the outside of the tank facility limitations. This part of the area may not be built on or otherwise used in violation of the regulations for the zone. Closed zones have been established around the airport in the form of obstacle-free surfaces which consist of, on the one hand, a horizontal plane and a conical surface and partly of approach and departure surfaces in the runway extension. The area is located below the obstacle-free level of the airport and is covered by the horizontal surface, where buildings and other facilities may not be built above elevation 61.0 meters and roads may not be constructed above elevation 56.0 meters.
